ESR recently released 2 new tide models in the Arctic region.: Arc2kmTM and Gr1kmTM.
The Arctic 2km tide model (Arc2kmTM) and the Greenland 1km tide model (Gr1kmTM) are barotropic ocean tide models on a 2×2 km and 1×1 km polar stereographic grids, respectively. They consist of spatial grids of complex amplitude coefficients for sea surface height and volume transports for 8 principal tidal constituents (M2, S2, K2, N2,K1, O1, P1, Q1).
The domains of the two models are shown below:
The Arctic 2km tide model (Arc2kmTM) is a barotropic ocean tide model on a 2×2 km polar stereographic grid, and consists of spatial grids of complex amplitude coefficients for sea surface height and volume transports for 8 principal tidal constituents (M2, S2, K2, N2,K1, O1, P1, Q1).
The Greenland 1km tide model (Gr1kmTM) is a Greenland barotropic tide model on a 1×1 km polar stereographic grid and also consists of spatial grids of complex amplitude coefficients for sea surface height and volume transports for 8 principal tidal constituents (M2, S2, K2, N2, K1, O1, P1, Q1). The Greenland grid includes improved fjords and ice shelf areas.
Both models are available for download from the Arctic Data Center:
