The American Meteorological Society (AMS) has voted to induct Dr. Gary Lagerloef as a Fellow of the AMS and to award him the Verner Suomi Award for “outstanding, decades-long leadership in advancing remote sensing technology for ocean salinity, which led to the groundbreaking Aquarius satellite mission”. The awards ceremony will take place on January 10th, 2018 in Austin, Texas.
