On Oct 30th, ESR’S Susan Howard and Kathleen Dohan participated in the fabulous Harry Potter Workshop at the Sky Valley Education Center (SVEC) in Monroe. For one day, the SVEC was transformed into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Students were able to attend Harry Potter workshops and even play Quidditch.
The Harry Potter Workshop mixed hands-on science and learning with the fun of Harry Potter. It included guests from the Pacific Science Center, Heart Song Farms, Sno-Isle Libraries, as well as ESR.
ESR provided a “potions” class. We donned our best wizarding gear to teach kids about the ocean as we showed them how to mix up density “potions”. It was a fun day filled with a lot of great science and curious kids.
