"An Inconvenient Talk"
Presentation by Dr. Gary S.E. Lagerloef & Dr. Jonathan M. Lilly
Tacoma, WA - City Council Chambers, October 25, 2007

Drs. Gary Lagerloef & Jonathan Lilly presented a lecture on climate change, as part of Tacoma’s Day of Conversation about Climate Change. This day long event, dedicated to learning, discussing, and reflecting on the issue of climate change, was organized by a member of the city’s Green Ribbon Climate Action Task Force and a Tacoma port commissioner. The 26 member task force has been in force for several months, proposing ways to reduce the city’s greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the U.S. Conference of Mayors Climate Protection Agreement, joining nearly 700 cities across the nation who are acting to counter the effects of global climate change. The day culminated with Mayor Baarsma introducing Dr. Lagerloef and Dr. Lilly’s presentation in the Tacoma City Council chamber to members of the task force and several environmental groups, as well as concerned citizens.
