Hsun-Ying Kao received her B.S. degree in atmospheric sciences from National Taiwan University in 2003, and worked as a research assistant from 2003 to 2004. In 2004, she began her studies on contrasting eastern-Pacific and central-Pacific types of ENSO for her Ph.D. After graduation from University of California, Irvine in 2009, she joined ESR as a research associate, and has been working on the Aquarius satellite project.

Special Interests: ENSO; tropical air-sea interactions; data analysis
