Research Projects

Research at ESR covers a wide range of topics from polar science to equatorial studies.
Below are links to some of our ongoing research projects:

The Aquarius Satellite Mission
One of two new Earth System Science Pathfinder small-satellite program missions confirmed by NASA in 2005.
INSTANT: International Nusantara Stratification And Transport Program
An international program to measure the Indonesian Throughflow.
Internal Tides in the Indonesian Seas
Examining tides in the Indonesian Sea using observational data and models.
OSCAR: Ocean Surface Current Analysis Real-time
A processing system that provides operational ocean surface velocity fields to a broad-based user community.
Satellite Derived Tropical Ocean Surface Currents
Calculating surface current throughout the global tropical ocean using satellite-based, altimeter derived sea level data, scatterometer derived wind data, and SST data.
  Polar Science at ESR
Studies of polar oceans and ice through fieldwork, modeling, and satellite remote sensing
